The Académie of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence carries contemporary music in its DNA, having been founded by Pierre Boulez in 1998. In 2025, the 100^th anniversary of Boulez’s birth, the Festival highlights this legacy by offering a composition residency to 6 emerging composers, under the tutelage of leading composer Unsuk Chin.
